ADULT IMMUNIZATIONS
Sadly,
adults neglect to continue their immunizations after childhood.
Most of the basic immunizations are completed prior to high school
graduation age, but adults need to "booster" through
out adulthood and may need immunizations that were not receive
as children. Call the main immunization clinic to find out if
you need to update your immunizations.
The main immunization clinic provides immunizations on a walk-in
basis. Please plan to arrive well before the closing hours. The
outlying clinics also provide some adult immunizations. Call the
clinic
nearest you for more information.
Adults should receive a Tetanus/Diphteria immunization every
10 years. It is also recommended that an influenza vaccine
be received in the fall of each year, especially for high risk
individuals - those with chronic disease and 65 years or age and
older. Depending on lifestyle and work habits, it may be recommended
that you receive other vaccines.
