Environmental Health Services developed a program called "Bay Area Sharps Disposal Program" that is designed as a public service to assist the residents of Hillsborough County with a safe and environmentally sound method for disposing of residentially generated used sharps (syringes, needles, and lancets).

Individuals having a condition requiring the use of self-injected medications are encouraged to participate in this July 2, 2008

Approved type sharp containers are made available to program participants by Disposal Sites. When the container is almost full it can be returned to the disposal July 2, 2008l site will then provide the participant with a new 'sharps' container or approved disposal unit.
